Critique:

For this photo, this strobe lighting was white. It contrasts very well with the black background. The guy is looking up, which helps to build composition. The color makes the pic look old because its in black-and-white. It helps to create a certain vibe with the colors that are being used. The photographer likely wanted to make it seem dark because of the color. This shows how the lighting can help to add to a photo. In this photo, it makes it seem sad in a way because of the dark aspect with the white light coming in. The guy looking up makes him seem lost. It looks like he is trying to find an escape from the dark room that he is trapped in. This is one of the reasons that I chose this photo. It helps to tell a story using two simple colors. The man also looks very skinny, which can possibly add to the photo. The pose he is in makes his eyes seem like he has hope. This is while everything around him is dark. He is smiling as well which adds to this theory. I like how it is structured overall. The different components all contribute to the photo. This highlights the importance of color and composition. There is white light which creates a hopeful mood. The dark lighting makes it seem eerie. The way he looks up and his smile also contribute to this hopeful tone.

I did my landscapes of the athletic fields because there were mountains and other things in the background. The first photo of the football field was altered and I made the colors very vibrant and contrasting. This makes it seem like it is from another planet or world. The second photo is very bright and it seems to be unreal due to the bright colors.

I chose this image because I wanted to choose something that would make me seem mysterious and set a tone which can make my message/quote have a meaning.

I think that the audience would find the picture as mysterious because it is dark and white, as well as being blurry.

I chose Kanye West as my historical figure because he is one of my favorite music artists. He is influential in history as he is one of the greatest music artists of all time. He has changed both the music and fashion industry, with his Yeezy brand also becoming world-famous as being luxury shoes.

Fill flash is very important when shooting outside. It helps to correct the lighting when the background is bright. It is especially used when you want to fill in the shadows created by a bright background outside. The flash must always be on ETTL mode when using it.

Silhouette photography is used to make an everyday photo seem more dramatic. The silhouette helps to set a mood to the already strong image. It helps to provide a story using just single pictures. When making a silhouette of pictures, it is important to be in control of the lighting and the artistic matter of the dark figure. The person or subject must be pitch black while the background needs to be a pure white. Silhouettes are very useful when telling a story as it focuses more on the contents rather than the actual details of the photo.

Critique:

I liked Picasso’s drawing with light because he made it seem very clean. He drew a figure and his lines were very clear and solid. There seems to be a strange drawing of something that is hard to discover, which adds to how interesting it is. The viewers are attracted to its lighting and the figure that is being drawn.
